Even though it has been over a year since the Russo-Ukrainian war began, there seems to be nothing that has been done to aid the war. Instead, the world is facing the worst economic and humanitarian crisis. While the politically powerful countries are firing up the conflict, there is a terror that the conflict might escalate into a third world war.
No one has a clear stance and is only working for the benefit of themselves and their own country. No one has the time to think about the people of other countries who are suffering due to a lack of food and the economy for basic needs. Though the third world war is the biggest threat to humankind, the food and economic crisis people are facing currently isn’t a small deal either.
While the visible conflict is going on between Russia and Ukraine, imponderable conflict is going on all over the world. The war is sure to lead to an increase in international tensions and instability, which will affect global markets and trade between all the countries.
The inflation caused by the war has driven ordinary people to suicide and homicide. The war has not only made the situation economically weak or struck only Russia and Ukraine; the impact of the war has been felt even in third countries.
The increase in the price of petroleum products, after the conflict began, has affected the cost of transportation, agricultural production, and industrial production. Egypt’s food security is in a precarious situation since the agricultural sector is unable to produce enough grains, especially wheat, and oilseeds to serve even half of the local people as almost 85% of its wheat and 73% of its sunflower oil comes from Russia and Ukraine.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is to blame for the recent record-low depreciation of the Nepali rupee against the US dollar. Sunflower oil which used to cost Rs 40 per liter has become Rs 280 per liter in Nepal. The prices of rice, vegetables, pulses, and other food items have started increasing.
The rice packet that cost 1 Euro before the war is now being sold at 3 Euros, there is 200% inflation in gas prices, and crude oil whose price was $100 per barrel, has touched a high of $139 per barrel after Russia launched an attack on Ukraine.
Various news articles have been published regarding the donations given by the western countries to Ukraine. There are personal motifs behind the donations and the donation is doing nothing but fuel the war. Does the western community think that donation is the alternative to war? It is nothing to be proud of to provide accommodation and money for a few hundred individuals when thousands endure migration, family loss, and economic insecurity.
While only President Putin and President Zelenskyy are being questioned, the international community is silently taking matters into their hand and provoking the two parties, igniting the flame of pride in the presidents and escalating a regional conflict into a worldwide conflict.
It will not only affect the two countries directly involved but will lead to World War III ending all life in this world. The leader of each nation is ready to assert their dominance and defend their country. But who will they protect when there are no humans left on the planet as a result of the war? What human rights will you give when there is no human left to exercise the rights?
We all know which country has what kind of power; it is not a matter of the show. Instead of competing for power, we should move towards finding a common ground and working towards negotiations. The powerful countries and organizations established with the motive of peace like the United Nations should stop talking about human rights. Why talk big about human rights when you can do nothing to establish global peace? The donations and help given to immigrants is all ostentatious attempt to continue robbing everyone under the guise of help and aid. If it wasn’t so, this conflict could have been negotiated a long time ago.
The USA has been providing means and support in the form of weapons to Ukraine for which Ukraine has been standing rigorously, unknown of the fact that all the supply arms and amunitions they are getting are obsolete arms that they don’t even use and are using it to light up the war by supporting Ukraine. If the USA had to support Ukraine, wouldn’t they provide the latest weapons to finish the win situation and finalize victory? Why isn’t the USA doing this? All this is acting as a drop of gasoline in fire every minute that’d neither help it fire up nor let it extinguish.
On the other hand, Ukraine doesn’t even realize that continuing this war with loads of weapons supplied by the USA has not only led them to increase debt on ammunition but also is consistently increasing the risk to their citizens’ lives. If this continues and the citizens of Ukraine keep on leaving their country seeking shelter in other European countries, tell me what Mr. Zelenskyy has been fighting for. The land of Ukraine? Or for the citizens? Well, if it had been for the citizens, he would’ve thought in their favor by seeking a way to discontinue the war. All the weapon support has been a suicide bombing for Ukraine which Mr. Zelenskyy has to realize soon as the weapons are doing nothing but destroying his nation in return.
The land of Ukraine which was so fertile before the war has lost its fertility. The country that exported food grains is now unable to provide food to its own people. This, in the long run, will economically benefit the western countries as Ukraine will be completely dependent on them in various sectors. The US has its oil and food reserves ready for future use, it doesn’t concern them at all. But the poor countries and even their poor people will not be able to afford it in the coming days if the inflation keeps increasing and the production keeps decreasing. The president of the US is acting selfishly and only thinking about his people. He does not care about other people, he does not have humanity, and he doesn’t deserve just not to stay in America, which calls itself an advocate of human rights, but doesn’t deserve to live in this world. Even the presidents and prime ministers of powerful countries like the UK, Germany, India, China, France, etc. are a disgrace in the name of governmental representatives.
The government of Ukraine should understand the tactic of the USA to sell its weapons in the name of help and is imposing its importance in the name of aid and grants. Ukraine is just the scapegoat in the path of the US to become the ruling power of the world.
The ICC has no authority to detain President Putin. The arrest warrant for Putin is only a trick to deviate from the topic and portray Russia as an evil-doer and repress dissent in other countries. The western media is only focused on growing their business by showing the heroism and generosity of the western countries.
Since President Putin has been accused of committing war crimes in Ukraine, who is to be blamed and arrested for the death of people worldwide due to inflation? Russia? Ukraine? The US? NATO? Who?
Ukraine was not at a huge disadvantage when it was not a part of NATO, and it is still not too late to draw back and save the people. Agreements can be drafted on security guarantees after a bilateral talk between Ukraine and Russia. This matter can be put to an end with a peaceful resolution between the two parties.
We all know that “Prevention is better than cure,” and since war brings more harm than good to humanity in the aftermath, no one tried to prevent the disease that has already spread. So the least we can do is to at least make an effort to cure it. We cannot do anything to prevent natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis, but war is a calamity that can be stopped.
This is not just the words of an individual but the unheard voices of agonized people all over the world. Due to the leader’s fault, the entire nation, basically the entire world, are enduring hardship. This must end as soon as possible. The media should stop using the lives of Ukrainian people to grow their channels. This kind of news will not help anyone, but will only spread misinformation in the world.
The main point of conflict isn’t actually being discussed but the truth is being bent and presented in various ways. The donations and aid will not work in the long run so we should strive toward finding a solution to this issue, which can only be done through peaceful conversation, rather than being selfish and wasting our time spewing misinformation.
Not only the people of Ukraine and Russia but everyone in the globe deserve to live in peace and security and it is our collective responsibility to do everything in our power to make that happen. The world wants an actual solution and an actual movement for peace. What the globe is doing currently is only an illusion of peace establishment. We should now let bygones be bygones and work for the establishment of global peace.
